Justin & Trisha Davis
Justin and Trisha married in the summer of 1995, and began to serve in student ministry. They served churches
in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee. In June of 2002, the Davis family moved to Noblesville, Indiana to start a church to help people find their way back to God.
As the church began to grow, their marriage and Justin’s relationship with God began to deteriorate. Despite having three young boys at home and several hundred people attending their three year old church Justin chose to have an affair with a staff member, and seriously considered leaving Trisha and the boys.
Trisha and Justin were separated for two months and began to go to counseling. What God would do over next two years, neither Justin or Trisha expected. Justin began a long, difficult journey of peeling back layers of sexual abuse, a pornography addiction, and years of hiding. He began to find healing and restoration for his wounded heart. Trisha offered grace, forgiveness and demanded truth.
Three years after the affair, Justin and Trisha were asked to speak at a local church. The response that day was overwhelming. Over a hundred people stayed after the services to seek help, prayer and hope for their marital problems. With a hope of providing an online resource for people who had experienced marital difficulty, Justin and Trisha launched a series of blog posts called 8 Things that Destroyed Our Marriage. This series of posts began to resonate in the hearts and lives of people all over the world.
As Justin and Trisha began to understand how God was using their story, the vision for RefineUs Ministries, INC. was born. As a non-profit organization established in 2009, RefineUs sought to share God’s story of hope and redemption with couples, churches and para-church organizations.
As Justin and Trisha shared their story, they quickly realized that God was calling them to take the ministry a step further and provide resources for church, couples and para-church organizations that restore hope and renew relationships. RefineOurMarriage was launched in 2010 for that purpose.
